Payment Policy

To secure your booking, a minimum 50% of payment is required during confirmation, with full
payment required prior to arrival. Payments can be made by bank transfer, credit card or Pesapal
direct online payment. We accept the following payment types:

• US dollars
• Tanzanian shilling at the competitive exchange rate of the day
• Credit cards and Pesapal are accepted with an administration fee of 5%
• US$ Tanzanian bank cheque
  Cancellation Policy
  Cancellations are accepted in writing only. Since Chumbe Island has only 7 eco-bungalows, their
  occupancy is very important to the success of our organization. Therefore, the following cancellation
  charges apply depending on the length of time before the reservation date:
• More than one month before arrival date: no charge
• Within 30 days before arrival date: 50% charge
• Within 14 days of the arrival date: 75% charge
• Within 7 days of the arrival date: 100% charge
  In the unlikely event that Chumbe needs to make changes that will affect guests’ stay or we need to
  cancel your booking, we will inform you as soon as possible, offering a suitable alternative or a
  refund. This does not apply to small or minor changes during guest stay, resulting from circumstances
  beyond our control.
  
  Privacy Policy
  CHICOP hereby confirms that any personal information provided to our organization for any purpose
  will be kept confidential. CHICOP confirms that our sole purpose is to deal with you in your given
  capacity (client/agent/researcher/student/intern) directly and any information regarding your
  email address, phone number or credit card information will remain in our system for these direct
  purposes only and for no other reasons. CHICOP will not divulge personal information provided for
  the purposes of CHICOP administration to any third party.
