Chumbe Island featured in new videos: “Sustainable use of coastal areas in Zanzibar”
Ulli Kloiber and Khamis Khalfan from Chumbe Island share insights and lessons learned regarding Zanzibar marine life, challenges, and protection approaches in new videos
The videos are produced by the Finnish Environment Institute (SYKE) together with the Zanzibar authorities in a partnership known as ZanSDI. Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) is about sharing and providing access to spatial data, and together, the ZanSDI team developed these videos to showcase the magnificent underwater marine nature of Zanzibar and highlight the issues that the coast has. The videos have been produced both in English and in Swahili and target especially the Zanzibar people, for whom the underwater marine environment can still be completely unknown.
Thank you to Ville and Juho from the SYKE team for creating these important education awareness videos.
